Get Us Moving — Vehicle Campaign

Every outing we do costs us R700 in transport alone.

Dr. Phil-afel Foundation currently hires a local transport provider in Hanover Park at R700 per van per trip, accommodating up to 15 people. For the ECD children's programme, the women's empowerment sessions, team movement, and community support work — transport is one of our biggest recurring costs and one of the biggest limiting factors on how often we can run our programmes.

A foundation-owned vehicle would change that. It would allow us to run more outings, more frequently, at a fraction of the current cost. It would give us the flexibility to respond to urgent community needs, transport team members, deliver food parcels, and support the day-to-day operational movement that makes our programmes possible.

We are fundraising for a reliable second-hand people mover — a vehicle capable of safely transporting up to 15 children, women, and team members. Our target is R250,000. This reflects the realistic cost of a roadworthy second-hand people carrier in the current South African market and gives us room to negotiate on year and condition.

Every contribution to this campaign is an investment in the infrastructure that multiplies everything else we do. Once we have this vehicle, the cost of transport per outing drops dramatically — freeing up donated funds to go further into direct programme delivery.
